ProofA live test, in public
We're running AIMS on AIMS. In public.
Any agency can show you a case study. This one starts at zero. On October 10, 2026, the day askaims.com went live, we asked Google's Gemini and Claude the questions a business owner asks when they want more customers from AI. Below is what they said, every change we make from here, and a fresh re-check of the same questions every week.

Does AI know who we are?
Day 0 · Oct 10, 2026 · Gemini + Google Search
“AIMS at askaims.com refers to the Automated Import Messaging System. Launched in 2014, AIMS was developed by a team of IT developers, engineers, licensed US Customs Brokers, and express facility owner-operators.”

Day 0 · Oct 10, 2026 · Claude + web search
“I couldn't find anything about askaims.com. I ran three searches, including an exact-match search for the domain, and none returned a page, review, or description of it. So I can't tell you what the site does, and I can't say whether it's legit.”

Asked “What is AIMS at askaims.com, and is it legit?” 5 times on day 0. Answers that cited askaims.com itself: 0.
Question by question day 0
Updated Oct 10, 2026. 6 questions, asked 3 times each on each engine at every check. An answer counts only if it actually names askaims.com. A question the engine refused to answer (a rate limit) is left out, not counted as a miss.
LogWhat we've changed
Every change, dated.
The same fixes we make for clients, applied to ourselves. If the numbers don't move, this page will say so.
- Baseline. Asked 6 questions, 3 times each, on Gemini and Claude. No answer to a “who can help?” question named AIMS, and neither engine could say what askaims.com is.
- Machine-readable identity. Structured data on the homepage saying who AIMS is, where, what it offers and at what price, so an engine doesn't have to guess (or confuse us with another “AIMS”).
- Answers to the actual questions. An FAQ, also published as structured data, that answers the questions above directly, plus a plain-text summary for AI crawlers (llms.txt).
- Open to crawlers. A sitemap and robots rules that explicitly welcome the AI search crawlers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google), and the site submitted to Bing and other engines through IndexNow.
- A guide worth citing. Published How to get your local business recommended by AI, built from what the answers in our own tests actually cited.
- Registered with the search engines. Verified askaims.com in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools and submitted the sitemap, so the pages above can be crawled and indexed on purpose rather than by luck.
- First off-site profiles. A Google Business Profile (service area: Boston and Massachusetts, pending Google's verification) and a LinkedIn company page, both with the same name, phone and website as this site.
- NextThe directories the answers cited. Listings on Clutch, DesignRush and Built In Boston, which the answers to our own questions leaned on, plus a public review profile so “is AIMS legit?” has something independent to point to. That's where most of the movement usually comes from.
